Today's Fed Rates Decision Expected at 2 PM ET

As another Fed rates decision approaches, it is interesting to observe the institutional activity ahead of the announcement. What we see is that the day today in the U.S. markets started at the neutral, balancing institutional buyers and sellers. However, as the announcement time is approaching, institutional sellers appear to slightly dominate the buyers: the net difference between institutional buy flows and sell flows observed by AbleMarkets is only negative 20%. This implies that many institutions are still buying into the U.S. markets as they believe that the Fed decision will have a positive outcome. At the same time, The HFT flows observed by AbleMarkets have been neutral.
